OnForce jobs update

Comments

Current open job is for some guy in Jamul with a Xerox Xpress 36. He tried to set it up but could not get the computer to recognize the printer. At first I thought the problem was with the cables he was using. But when I ran the SCSI utility, the SCSI card recognized the device. When I booted back up to Windows XP, the OS recognized the device but could not install the printer driver for it. I suspect Xerox does not have the XP printer driver for the Xerox XPress.

I am thinking of building an NT box for him with a SCSI card to test. Maybe the drivers will work better with it.

Good thing he was satisfied with what I did even if we did not completely got his printer going. I billed him for an hour and he wrote a check and signed the work order. He also gave me a $20 tip for making his print server work.

This is a job from OnSite Computer Services, my first one from them. They have a bit different process that CompUSA or Dell. They make the EU pay by check or credit card. I’d have to fax a copy of the check and sales receipt and then mail them the originals. I’ll do that Monday, then close the work order.

Lesson for Priesthood was on the importance of keeping a journal. A journal is necessary to record spiritual experiences that our posterity could benefit from.

Sacrament talks - The Stake Relief Society President, Sis. Olsen, expounded the July First Presidency message. Bro. Mitchell talked about repentance.

The De Leon family were in church. They wanted to attend sacrament before they take Geraldine to the airport.

Janet Mamangon went to church today. Jen picked her up.

Oscar Pangilinan got baptized today. Elder Papel baptized him.

Scripps Ranch DSL line

May 09
Comments

Yesterday, I hooked up the equipment for Scripps Ranch’s DSL line. Chris from COVAD terminated the DSL link on the MPOE and setup the DSL bridge modem. At 6pm, I worked with Chris from FNIS in Florida who gave me instructions on how to connect the Cisco DSL router. We conferenced in with Sprint. For a while they were not able to get the connections working because the DSL connection keeps dropping. I had to power cycle the DSL modem a couple of times before they decided that everything was working right.

However, today Chris from FNIS called me that the DSL line was down again. I called COVAD. The first tech told me to factory default the DSL bridge modem and make the Cisco router do the authentication. I talked to Chris about it and he said he did not want any authentication. I called COVAD again and they said all their lines need authentication. I told Chris about it and suggested he talk to COVAD. I emailed him the necessary info.

Birth of Aaron Murillo

Mar 26
Comments

Aaron Go Murillo was born today at Kaiser Hospital in San Diego on March 26, 2006 @ 6:38 AM.

Jen started labor around 1:30 AM. At 2:30 AM she woke me up and told me this could be the real thing. We started getting ready and made plans for our next move. We called the hospital to let us know of our situation. The hospital told us to stay put until the contractions become more frequent and the pain becomes more intense. We decided to call Gene Clark to watch Jill and Luke while we are at the hospital. Luckily Gene was awake when we called. I picked her up around 3:30 AM. Her daughter Maribel decided to go with her. A little after 4:00AM we decided to drive to the hospital. We got to the hospital at 4:30AM where Jen was promptly checked by a nurse.

Jen was transferred to the delivery room around 5:30AM. At 6:00AM they decided to burst her water bag and Jen started pushing. The baby came out at 6:38AM. I got to cut the umbilical cord.

Temple sealings

Mar 19
Comments

Went to branch temple sealings. Picked up Jen at Kaiser around 6:15PM. Temple parking lot was full. Had to drop off Jen at the lobby and park at the overflow parking area. Changed from work clothes to church clothes in the car. When I got to the sealing room, Jen was already there along with Bro Jun, Sis. Lou, Aileen, Pres. and Sis. Idos, and Jeremy and Lolit Palma from the Mira Mesa Branch.

Did Alcantara’s family files and a few temple files.

After the temple, we stopped by my office to reboot Park Camino server (see post below).
